Jack Trice Stadium, located at 1800 S 4th St, Ames, Iowa, is accessible via various transportation methods, including driving, parking, and public transportation options.

By car 

If you are planning on driving to the venue, then there are major connecting highways you could take – depending on whether you’re coming from the north or the south. You can enter the college’s address into your GPS to get the most up-to-date travel information for the day. There are ample parking options. However, it is recommended that you arrive early to secure your spot.

Parking 

Several parking options are available, including the Cyclone Club Members parking lot. All paved and grass parking located north and east of Jack Trice Stadium is reserved for Cyclone Club members. For weekend games, these lots open at 7am or six hours before kick-off, whichever is earlier. 

General public parking is available in the grass areas south of MidAmerican Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium along South 16th Street. Limited parking is also available around the Hilton Coliseum. All general public parking lots are open six hours before kick-off.

Public transport

On game days, shuttle trolleys pulled by tractors provide ground transportation around the complex, starting three hours before the game. 

The City of Ames enforces a Game Day Parking Ordinance, increasing fines for illegal parking from $20 to $40 in designated neighborhoods from 6am to midnight on home football game days. More than 500 signs are posted in the impacted neighborhoods. 

Accessible parking and shuttle services are provided to assist with transportation around the complex.

CyRide Shuttle Service

On game days, CyRide, the local public transit system, operates a dedicated football shuttle route with seven stops:

  • » Stephens Auditorium (west side; both pick-up and drop-off)
  • » Wallace Road (near the greenhouses)
  • » Metals Development Building (Pammel Drive)
  • » Communications Building (Pammel Drive)
  • » College of Design (east side, on Bissell Road)
  • » Friley Hall (Union Drive)
  • » Memorial Union (north side, Union Drive)

Shuttle trolleys pulled by tractors will provide ground transportation around the stadium complex starting three hours prior to the game.

Shuttle services are only available in the parking lots of Jack Trice Stadium to the gates. For more information, kindly contact the ISU for more information.

The free shuttle will begin running two hours before kickoff and continue until approximately two hours after the game ends. Three CyRide buses will run every eight minutes before and after the game, and every 20 minutes during the game. The free shuttle will deliver riders to the west side of Stephens Auditorium — about one block from Jack Trice Stadium.

NOTICE: Public transport can frequently be busier than normal at times around major events at Jack Trice Stadium. We advise you to plan accordingly! We recommend getting a taxi or Uber as the easiest and most stress free journey option – As they eliminate most of the problems with busier public transport and parking.

Ridesharing services

Services like Lyft and Uber operate in Ames and can provide convenient transportation to and from the location. Due to increased demand on game days, it’s advisable to book rides in advance and be prepared for potential surge pricing. 

Walking or biking

Walking or biking to the outdoor arena is a viable option for those in close proximity. Bike racks are available nearby for secure parking. Remember to follow local traffic laws and use designated paths where available.
